A movie of the history of the SDA is at 👉TELL THE WORLD [Feature Film] History of The Seventh-day Adventist Church 🙏 - Bing video . It is about 2 hours and 33 minutes long. I thought of watching of it when a came across a DVD (at a thrift store) of the video called "The Adventists" and I wanted to see how a SDA movie of SDA history compares the WT movie of WT/JW history ("Jehovah's Witnesses—Faith in Action: Out of Darkness: Part 1"). It looks like three of the videos I posted links to in my prior post were trailers to the "TELL THE WORLD" movie. The movie is interesting to me, though I am now an atheist.

The Adventists documentary film - Bing video - The SDA live about 10 years longer than people in general of the USA, due to their emphasis on healthy living. That is something I appreciate about them.
There are some similarities between the SDA and WT/JWs. See the following videos.
The Great Disappointment - Bing video - The video mentions Christ will come to his sanctuary; the WT teaches Christ came to the temple in 1918 (or so).
October 22, 1844 - We Know the Date. Film “Tell the World” - Bing video (this video says that a man (an actor portraying Miller?) later realized there was no year 0 and thus his calculation of the year was off; the WT such have learned of that long before the year 1900 AD regarding the 1914 AD date and 606 BC versus the 607 BC).
Ellen Harmon - The Early Years. Film “Tell the World” - Bing video - In video Ellen Harmon (the person portraying her) is troubled by the teaching (by some ministers who endorse Miller's teachings of the Advent of Christ) of the heavenly Father delighting in eternal torment. As we know, Russell was also troubled by that doctrine. In this video the minister tells Ellen and her family that they must stop spreading their teaches or leave the congregation. Ellen's dad they will not stop and if they must leave the congregation then so be it. After they walk out of the church building the head minister says that they (the ministers of the congregation) will announce the "removal from fellowship" of Ellen's family on "next Sunday".
"Ellen White" Visits the Grants Pass SDA Church, pt1 - Bing video is not a movie (unlike the three above) and it is about 30 minutes long. This video has the someone apparently acting the role of Ellen G. White, but this is done in a "modern times" in a "modern" church instead of before the year 1915. The person at the church is giving a speech. She is introduced as being an early pioneer of the church. The JWs also have those who are called pioneers, but Ellen really was a pioneer. I don't which year this video was produced. She is wearing a head covering.

The Last Day
by johnamos in[7-1-98 wt – martha said of her dead brother, lazarus: “i know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (john 11:24) how did she know that?
…she might even have learned this from jesus himself.
(john 6:39 - this is the will of him who sent me, that i should lose none out of all those whom he has given me, but that i should resurrect them on the last day.

Russell had the idea of a 1,000 year long trial of resurrected people apparently as a way to reconcile various conflicting Christian doctrines/interpretations with each other, including the doctrine of Universalism and of a restitution of all. At least that is the impression I got from reading portions of the his Studies in the Scriptures volumes. He also had the idea that 'the day of the Lord/Jehovah' was much longer than one solar day. Also a Bible verse says that a 1,000 years to the Lord/Jehovah is as just one day, and compare that to the account of Adam being told that if he ate the forbidden fruit he would die in that very day to the verse which said Adam lived for 930 years.
As to where Martha, if she existed, got the idea of resurrection on the last day, she got it from some of the Jewish groups (such as the Pharisees and Essenes) which were in existence before the year 1 CE/AD. They were teaching the resurrection and their ancestral community likely got it from the Persians (while the Jews were in Persia/Iran). The Persian/Iranian worshipers of the god/lord Ahura Mazda believed in the last days, a judgement day, in a resurrection, and in a future battle between the forces of good (and light) and evil (and darkness).
Pagan religious ideas can not be completely removed from Christianity (without a tremendous change to Bible based Christianity), since pagan religious ideas are a substantial part the both the New Testament and the Old Testament sections of the so called 'Holy' Bible. Similarly, some pagan Greek philosophy is included in some of the wisdom teachings attributed to Jesus in the Bible (and even Paul quotes pagan Greek philosophers authoritatively). And, some pagan Egyptian religious philosophy has been adapted into some of the wisdom teachings of the book of Proverbs. For example of the latter see Proverbs 22:17 - 23:35 in the Bible and see the translator's note for 22:19 in the Catholic Bible called the New American Bible (NAB) - not to be confused with the protestant New American Standard Bible. In that Catholic Bible (at least in the OT translation copyright 1970) the phrase "words of Amen-em-Ope" is used in verse 19!
Regarding the words of the scribe Amen-em-Ope see also page 315 of a massive book published by Abingdon Press called The Interpreter's One-Volume Commentary On The Bible: Introduction and Commentary of Each Book of the Bible Including the Apocrypha, With General Articles, Edited by Charles M. Laymon; copyright 1971. The Editor's Preface of that book says the following.
"The authorship of this volume is varied in that scholars were chosen from many groups to contribute to the task. In this sense it is an ecumenical writing, Protestants from numerous denominations, Jews, and also Roman Catholics are represented in the book. Truth cannot be categorized according to its ecclesiastical sources. It is above and beyond such distinction." The main scripture text used for this commentary is the Revised Standard Version of the Bible. Page 315 of the commentary, under the heading of 'III. The "Thirty Sayings" (22:17 - 24:22)' says in part the following.
'This collection is in some way directly dependent on the Egyptian Instruction of Amen-em-Opet. The translation of an obscure Hebrew phrase as thirty sayings in 22:20 (KJV "excellent things") is based on the fact that Amen-em-Opet's book contains 30 chs. In 22:17 - 23:11 every proverb but one (22:26-27; most of these proverbs consist of 2 vss. each) has a more or less close parallel in the Egyptian book, though the order is different. The quotations below from this work are from the trans. by J. A. Wilson in J. B. Pritchard, ed., Ancient Near Eastern Texts, pp. 421-25." '
By the way, in support of the accuracy (and prophecies) of the Bible, the WT a number of times has quoted from editions of the book called Ancient Near Eastern Texts. For one example of such, see source reference number 6 to a quote in chapter 9 of the WT book called THE BIBLE--God's Word or Man's? For two other examples see source reference numbers 23 and 25 of the WT book called Is the Bible really the Word of God?

USA House Bill calling for the global repeal of blasphemy, heresy, and apostasy laws, passed overwhelmingly!
by Disillusioned JW inon december 7, 2020 usa congressman jamie raskin's (md-08) bipartisan house resolution 512, calling for the global repeal of blasphemy, heresy, and apostasy laws, passed the house of representatives by an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote of 386-3; see https://raskin.house.gov/2020/12/house-passes-raskin-resolution-calling-global-repeal-blasphemy-heresy-apostasy .
a description of the bill says "the resolution also calls for the immediate release of religious prisoners of conscience worldwide.
as more than 80 countries use blasphemy laws to persecute and imprison religious minorities and dissenters, the house asserted the essential importance of freedom of religion and liberty of conscience globally.".

Eleanor Roosevelt, the wife of former President Franklin Roosevelt, oversaw the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN General Assembly announced it in 1948. Back then people probably weren't thinking much about the right to be an irreligious atheist.
It seems to me that the name "International Declaration of Human Rights" is and older term (used in a UN draft) for the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights". My understanding is that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is not legally binding upon any of the nations which voted in favor of it; it is not a law.

Is there anything ex-LDS, ex-Scientologists, and former members of other high control religions can do hasten the demise of their respective former religions?

There were a number of time periods in the history of the International Bible Students Association and the Jehovah's Witnesses in which the number of people believing in the WT religion dropped drastically on a percentage basis (such as after 1925) yet the religion recovered. Can we be sure that this time the religion will not have a recovery. I hope so, but I am not so sure.

What’s Wrong With President Biden?
by minimus ini just watched excerpts from his cnn town hall event and something is seriously wrong with him.
he can’t put together a sentence without getting lost, tripping on his own words, forgetting what he is talking about.……this is embarrassing.
and it’s not because he has a stutter!

The nature of some of the posts on jehovahs-witness.com might partly be explained by the concept of tribalism.

What WT Children's Book Were You Studied With As A Child?
by Sea Breeze inmy mom studied with me in the paradise book before i went to kindergarten.
i remember the book vividly.
it creeped me out as a kid.

The WT's children books my sister and I studied (with my father conducting the study) while I was a preteen were the Paradise book (of 1958) and the "Listening to the Great Teacher" book (of 1971). I don't recall thinking of the content of the books were creepy, but maybe I thought the illustration on pages 208-209 of the Paradise book was alarming. While a preteen I probably studied other WT books also. Later my father also conducted studies using other books of the WT. -

I was incorrect in thinking that the term "brown shirts" was a term which applied to all of the Nazis, instead it applied to the Sturmabteilung or SA, a notorious paramilitary organization within the German Nazi Party. Members of the Sturmabteilung wore brown shirts. See https://www.britannica.com/topic/SA-Nazi-organization. See also https://www.newsweek.com/marjorie-taylor-greene-nazi-germany-ajcongress-brown-shirts-1607540 which has an article called "Jewish Groups Blast Marjorie Taylor Greene's 'Medical Brown Shirts' COVID Jab Comparison".
The latter article says 'The "Brown shirts" refer to the Sturmabteilung or SA, a notorious paramilitary force assembled in the 1920s which targeted Jews and other groups and facilitated Adolf Hitler's rise to power.'
Regarding Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and her comments the Newsweek article quotes her saying "People have a choice, they don't need your medical brown shirts showing up at their door ordering vaccinations. You can't force people to be part of the human experiment". The article further says 'However, Eric Fingerhut, CEO of the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) condemned Greene's latest tweet, telling Newsweek that her "repeated use of Nazi imagery to discuss public health issues is outrageous, offensive and unacceptable."
...
"Jewish Federations are working hard to secure Jewish communities facing rising antisemitism across the country, and this kind of rhetoric only adds fuel to the fire. Greene should retract her statement and apologize," Fingerhut added.'
Regarding Greene and her comments, the article quotes Joel Rubin, executive director of the American Jewish Congress as saying "The Holocaust and Jewish suffering is not a prop for her delusional views comparing efforts to save lives through vaccines with the most heinous, systematic state-sponsored slaughter of millions of innocent victims."
